There are presently no open calls for submissions.
Below, you will find the individual categories for which we are currently, or soon to be, reading. Scroll down to the appropriate category.Guidelines for submitting to the journal can be found on our website: http://kudzuhouse.org/submissions/guidelines/
Please, do not submit work to the wrong category. This causes delays and mistakes on our end. We read for creative writing and scholarship for most of the year, but we close our reading periodically (generally over the summer). Please pay attention to our current calls on our website: http://kudzuhouse.org/submissions/. Creative writing emailed directly to the editor, or submitted to a category during a closed reading period (such as poetry sent to our scholarly issue when we are not reading for creative writing) will be deleted unread.
We do not charge for the digital issues, nor do we charge fees for regular submissions. However, in an effort to raise money for the journal, we now offer expedited reading, for a small fee. We will try to respond to these submissions within a few of weeks, and we hope to give some feedback on the work, regardless of our decision. Some expedited submissions will take longer than a few weeks, but we will nonetheless strive to offer you constructive feedback.
